My skills
I have excellent knowledge of XHTML, CSS, Photoshop CS3, and Dreamweaver MX. I can edit and understand Javascript and enjoy working side by side with developers/programmers.
I enjoy developing clean code, that is well commented, and validates against W3C.
I have worked through the full development lifecycle - with regular & extensive client interaction. I've excellent brainstorming capabilities and have been hired by UK creative agencys to brainstorm with other creatives for major brands such as Diageo (Guinness) and Coca-Cola.
I see solutions quickly, and am hands-on, and can learn at speed. I always design with usability at the forefront of the design, and always develop with the designer in mind. I think from the perspective of the end user, always ensuring that the information can be obtained by the user as quickly as possible. I have a massive interest in the development of Web 2.0. I love the internet. I love design.
I love pixel perfect.
My background
I am currently based in Sydney, Australia having relocated from Dublin in mid-October 2007.
I live and breathe good web design, and enjoy learning new techniques and reading about new guidelines, and also about usability. I graduated from the National College of Art & Design, Dublin in 2002, graduating with honours in Industrial Design (Bdes in Industrial Design). In my final year I won the RSA Student Design Award (Transport Design) in London. The Award was a travel bursory from Ford Motors & Bugatti (I would have preferred one of these though). With this award I relocated myself for 2003/2004 to Sydney, where I based myself and travelled extensively to Melbourne, Adelaide and the East Coast. I have over 4 1/2 years professional design experience.
My interests
I am a songwriter/guitarist and have been professionally involved in the music scene in Ireland for 5 years, playing under my pseudo-name of Minus Circus. I love songwriting and playing guitar. I enjoy triathlon (running) and keeping fit. The last time I ran a half marathon was in Sydney, and I completed it in 91mins and plan to go sub-90 this time around!
